Every professional staff member of the department is certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and all nurses are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Department members keep abreast of the most recent advances in the field through ongoing continuing education courses and staff development workshops. The professional staff is supported by dedicated patient transporters, housekeepers and clerical staff.

Joanne Zahn, R.N.
Nurse Coordinator
Joanne Zahn earned her nursing degree from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Jersey City. She has been a member of the medical center's Nursing Staff for 19 years and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Joanne leads a team of 18 nurses who are responsible for direct patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and 15 nurses who care for patients in the Cardiac Day Accommodation Room.
Christopher Wyman, RCVT
Lead Technologist
Christopher Wyman joined the staff of Hackensack University Medical Center in early 1989 upon his discharge from the United States Navy. As a Navy corpsman he had been assigned to the Naval Hospital in Orlando, Florida, where he worked in the Emergency Medicine Department as a phlebotomist. In August 1989 he transferred to the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory as a Cardiovascular Technologist. He earned his certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) in 1992. Chris advanced through the Cardiovascular Technologist levels and was promoted to Lead Technologist in 1997. He leads a team of ten registered cardiovascular invasive specialists and eight certified cardiographic technicians. He is responsible for overseeing the day to day management of the technical staff along with operational management of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and is an instructor of Basic Life Support at the medical center.
SUPPORT STAFF:
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory has eight Monitor Technicians who are proficient in reading complex heart monitors, notifying the cardiologist of changes and documenting the procedures on a computerized log. The four Transporters are responsible for getting you to the right place at the right time. They transport you (on a stretcher) between the CDAR and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and then bring you back to your nursing care unit.
