Hackensack University Medical Center's Emergency/Trauma Department (ETD) is a state-designated Level II Trauma Center, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, treating all ages from neonates to geriatrics. Trauma surgeons are available around the clock to treat the entire spectrum of diseases, and adult and pediatric injuries. All ETD patients are managed by a medical and nursing staff highly skilled in Emergency Medicine, with the support of all medical specialties through the on-call schedule. The Pediatric Emergency Room is staffed by a medical and nursing staff specifically trained in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and the ETD's Psychiatric Unit is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
