The Cochlear Implant Program at Hackensack University Medical Center offers cochlear implants for both adult and pediatric patients with severe to profound sensorineural (nerve) hearing loss. Cochlear implantation is a revolutionary innovation in the management of patients who do not benefit from traditional hearing aids. Our accomplished cochlear implant team is a multidisciplinary service comprising medical and surgical specialists from the fields of otolaryngology, audiology, speech-language pathology, psychology, social services, and educational outreach services. Together we create a comprehensive program that encompasses all facets of cochlear implantation from the initial evaluation stages through surgery and rehabilitation. Our philosophy to treat the total patient, addresses the physical, emotional, and family concerns associated with a severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss condition.
