Services are structured into a screening center – for women undergoing baseline and yearly routine mammograms – and a diagnostic center – for women who are at high risk for breast cancer, have felt a lump, or have been referred by their physicians and are in need of more comprehensive services. This structure improves the delivery of care, cuts down waiting times for appointments, decreases waiting time in the center, and provides for more convenient appointment hours.

Sixty percent of the mammograms that take place at The Betty Torricelli Institute for Breast Care are screening; 40 percent are diagnostic – a high percentage that is a result of Hackensack University Medical Center’s sophisticated medical expertise.

You do not need a doctor’s referral for an appointment.
